Dominant Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player concluded the year with an impressive 23-3 Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She received almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".
