Football Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
