Six Arrested Following 12 Million Euro Robbery on Gold Processing Laboratory in the French Republic

Six armed perpetrators using high-powered firearms used explosive devices to breach the security of a precious metals processing plant located in the city of Lyon, slightly injuring five workers during what is being called the newest significant broad daylight robbery to hit the country.

The audacious robbery occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, with officers swiftly apprehending the suspected perpetrators and recovering the stolen goods estimated to be worth €12 million (£10.5M), as stated by authorities.

Five workers of Laboratoires Pourquery received light wounds due to the explosion, and three of them required hospital checks for examination, officials confirmed. Twenty-eight workers were at the location when the thieves struck.

The individuals, thought to be experienced criminals, were arrested a brief time later in the nearby town of Vénissieux, a source close to the investigation stated.

A woman involved who participated in the raid was taken into custody as well, according to law enforcement.

“Six individuals who utilized explosives in an attack on a metals processing plant in the Lyon area were arrested at the scene,” France's security official announced via X, lauding police for their “quick action, authority and management”.

Assault rifles, handguns and explosives were likewise seized.

The heist took place as law enforcement in France on Thursday detained five further people, among them a key figure, in connection with this month's brazen raid on the Louvre museum.

Many investigative personnel have been hunting four thieves who employed a truck with a hydraulic lift and cutting gear to breach a first-floor gallery at the renowned museum on October 19th, fleeing with ornaments assessed at around €88 million.

In a different significant robbery, burglars recently broke into the French capital's Natural History Museum, stealing gold samples worth over $1 million. A woman from China, aged 24 was arrested earlier this month in the city of Barcelona in regarding the theft, officials confirmed.

The sequence of heists has generated apprehension in the nation regarding inadequate security measures at museums and various establishments housing valuable items.
