The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company still intends to draw people in with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The two games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription alone. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
